Where Crafting and Thrifting meet!

The Craft Box News & Happenings ~ October 2022

* We are open from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 on Saturdays.
* Our staff will continue to wear face masks and we strongly encourage customers to do so also.
* We no longer require customers to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer when entering the store, but our sanitizing station is right inside the door if you need it.
* Please continue to honor social distancing protocols.  Everyone has their own level of comfort so please give people space while shopping.

* We are restricting donations at this time, please call the store before dropping off donations.
* We will slowly begin phasing out our punch card program.  We will punch and honor any cards you have, but we will not be ordering more once they run out.

Our General Craft area is on sale!  All items on the General Craft spinner are 50% off!  You will know they are General Craft items by the highlighted price sticker.  There are lots of fun items for making holiday crafts.
All Home Decorator fabric is 20% off.

Monthly Tag Challenge!!  Join us for a fun and inspiring challenge to make a tag every month using whatever creative method you choose.  Even more fun, create a tag and bring it in by the 10th of the month to be displayed and entered into a drawing to win all the tags for that month.  The criteria for October is to use at least 3 colors and ovals. Tag size should be no larger than 3 1/2″ x 7″.  Everyone who enters a tag receives a Craft Box Buck.  We look forward to seeing your creations!  Here were the tags from September.  Congratulations to our winner Kathy!

Before you bring donations, please give us a call and we can tell you if we have the room and manpower to accept them.

Our return policy:  Items are returnable within 30 days only if defective.  Thanks for your cooperation!  We are always happy to let customers try out punches or other tools before buying.

October is a no-take month for us, so that we can get caught up with pricing and getting items out.  We will be taking appointments again on Friday, Nov. 4th starting at 10:00 a.m.
Products we buy.

Whether you are bringing a donation or a drop-off for compensation, please inspect your boxes for pests that may have taken up residence.  If we find evidence of bugs, moths, beetles or mice, we will immediately discard the items (if donated) or put outside and ask that they be picked up (if for compensation) and we will not accept future drop-offs from that person.  Thank you for your diligence and understanding.

In 2022, we will be taking compensated intakes every other month (January, March, May, July, September and November).

Please, no dumping or donations left at the building after hours or without our knowledge. Thank you!

We just received a request from the Assistance League of Denver to make bags to hold toiletries for assault victims.  We haven’t made up a pattern yet, but the fabric is cut 10 1/2″ x 28 1/2″, then folded in half to make the bag about 10″ x 14″.  The bags need to be lined and close with a drawstring, zipper or tie closure.  If anyone can help with these, there is a great need, they had requests last month for 374.

We would also like to highlight a local charity that makes and fills Christmas stockings for seniors and others:   The (Senior) Stocking Project.   Did you know that 50% of seniors living in nursing homes never receive a visitor? Will you help us fill Christmas stockings for local low-income & isolated seniors, adults living with disabilities adults, and the homeless? When you fill a Christmas stocking, you fill a heart. Our goal this year is 3,000.  They would love for crafters to make handmade ornaments (nothing fragile or breakable) and individual package tissue covers.  If you can’t or don’t have time to sew, you can donate items to go in the stockings.  We have lists here at the store or look under “files” on their Facebook page.     Please drop off items by October 31st.

Our classroom is available to rent for the reasonable price of $25 for 2 1/2 hours (minimum), plus $10 each additional hour.  We do have some teachers who are holding classes here and we will link to their classes in the future.
We do not have any classes scheduled for October.
