In May, all Needlework Kits will be 20% off!

With the passage of the Plastic Pollution Reduction Act (HB 21-1162), Colorado retailers are required to charge $.10 for paper or plastic checkout bags.  Although The Craft Box is exempt as a small retail business, we are opting to participate in the program.  Part of our mission is to reuse and recycle and we support the efforts to reduce plastic in our environment.  Please bring your reusable bags with you when you shop.

May is a no-take month for us, so that we can get caught up with pricing and getting items out.  We will be taking appointments again on Monday, June 5th starting at 10:00 a.m.
Products we buy.

Whether you are bringing a donation or a drop-off for compensation, please inspect your boxes for pests that may have taken up residence.  If we find evidence of bugs, moths, beetles or mice, we will immediately discard the items (if donated) or put outside and ask that they be picked up (if for compensation) and we will not accept future drop-offs from that person.  Thank you for your diligence and understanding.

Please, no dumping or donations left at the building after hours or without our knowledge. Thank you!

We had the pleasure of meeting members from the group Crafting Change in April when they visited the store to shop.  As their name suggests, they change lives with the items they make. Here is some information on their organization:
Imagine sewing a reusable menstrual pad that helps a middle school girl in rural Western Africa stay in school. Or crocheting a winter hat that warms the head of an unhoused man on LA’s Skid Row, or one fighting for freedom in Ukraine. Crafting Change is a 501c3 non-profit that matches a crafters love of crafting with tangible good works for those in need. Crafters becoming activists-or ‘craftivists.’ Crafting Change takes the items lovingly crafted by volunteers and delivers them to well vetted organizations helping those in need. Every item crafted is given to someone who needs it. Changing lives by crafting.
Crafting Change was born out of the COVID-19 pandemic, when crafters rose to meet the challenge to sew masks desperately needed by healthcare workers and other frontline heroes. Recognizing the power and passion of the crafter, Crafting Change has built a model to harness this power and tangibly impact the lives of those in need. Crafting Change has delivered over 150,000 items made by craftivists in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Canada to organizations in every state, and internationally to Canada, Nepal, Ghana and Ukraine. If it can be made, it can bring joy, comfort, or support to someone in need.
We partner with other non-profits doing the hard work on the ground in neighborhoods and communities around the globe. They contact Crafting Change because they know our volunteers will provide high quality handcrafted items to the specifications they need to serve their communities.
Crafting Change provides a library of patterns, on-line zoom classes and access to experts in sewing and fiber arts to ensure that our volunteer craftivists have all of the resources they need to construct exactly what the charities are requesting.
We hope you will join us in Crafting Change for those in need. We make it easy to make a difference, join us today at http://www.craftingchange.org and choose the project you want to make for those in need today! You can also email to: info@craftingchange.org for more information.

In April, we were collecting cat carrier blankets for Dumb Friends League.  We didn’t quite reach our goal of 30 blankets, so we will continue to collect them through May.  Super easy to make, we have instructions here at the store or at Dumb Friends League and click on the Supplies tab.

With the efforts to reduce the use of plastic merchandise bags, there is a great need for reusable grocery bags at area food pantries.  We have plenty of patterns and kits made up if you have a little time to sew some up!

Please email us at if you know of any charities that we could support with hand made items or craft supplies.

Our classroom is available to rent for the reasonable price of $25 for 2 hours (minimum), plus $10 each additional hour.  We do have some teachers who are holding classes here and we will link to their classes in the future.
