The Craft Box News & Happenings ~ January 2017
Happy New Year! We look forward to a fresh start for 2017. So many crazy things happened in 2016! As you know, crafting can calm you during times of stress; it gives you focus on something other than the challenge you are facing alone. And then when you craft with others, the burden can be lightened just by sharing. Our hope for you, our crafting friends, is a year filled with many craft projects and happy times spent with loved ones. Let’s create some lovely memories in 2017.
The Craft Box is closed January 2nd-4th (Monday-Wednesday) for inventory review and rearranging. Craft items seem to have a mind of their own and take over the space! We want to declutter a bit, so you’ll need to stop by when we are open again, on Thursday, January 5th to see the changes!
All items on the front table are 50% off through January 21st.
Appointments are being scheduled for May 2017. We are not accepting rubber stamps, apparel or home decorator fabric. If you can’t wait until then, we will accept donations at any time.
We want to collect as many scarves and hats as possible and take them to downtown Denver and leave them for homeless people in a park. If you have any that you’d like to contribute, please bring them in! We also have some yarn that can be used for these, so stop by and ask. We would like to deliver the items on Sunday, January 15th so please drop them off by Saturday, January 14th. Thanks for your participation!
Many of you have expressed an interest in the challenge that Craft Box employees and friends have been doing (check out our journals on display!) so we thought that it would be fun to open it up to all of our customers. Here’s how it works:
A new challenge will be announced the first month of every quarter (January, April, July, October). The finished project must be brought to the Craft Box by the 15th of the second month. All projects will be on display, during which the customers will vote for their favorite. The winner will be announced at the end of the third month and will receive $10.00 in Craft Box Bucks.
The first challenge for this year is to make an UGLY DOLL. It can be made in any craft medium, like paper, yarn or fabric. Let The Crafting Challenge Begin! Happy crafting
