September is a no-take month for our compensated intakes.
We will be taking appointments again on October 3rd starting at 10:00 a.m.
The Craft Box News & Happenings ~ February 2019
For the entire month of February, we will have 20% off of all Patterns, Paper (single sheets and packs) and Needlework Kits (cross-stitch, needlepoint, embroidery and crewel embroidery).
Did anyone catch the Denver Post article “Handmade” on January 31st? They listed The Craft Box as #5 of 12 crafting workshops around Colorado! We are so honored and appreciative to be recognized!
We have updated our return policy: books, patterns and tools are not returnable for a refund except in the case that the book or pattern is missing something or the tool is defective. Thanks for your cooperation! We are always happy to let customers try out punches or other tools before buying.
We will be taking appointments starting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7th for compensated drop offs. Keep trying, thanks for your patience with our new system. You MUST speak to a Craft Box staff member, please do not leave a message. If you have had previous appointments recently, we will only take 2 from the same person in a one year period to keep it fair for everyone who’d like to bring items in.
We do take donations at any time that we’re open. Please, no dumping or donations left at the building after hours or without our knowledge.
Whether you’re bringing a donation or a drop-off for compensation, please inspect your boxes for pests that may have taken up residence. If we find evidence of bugs, moths, beetles or mice, we will immediately discard the items (if donated) or put outside and ask that they be picked up (if for compensation) and we will not accept future drop-offs from that person. Thank you for your diligence and understanding.
Agape Hospice will be holding a work day for Busy Blankets on Friday, February 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Busy blankets, also called fidget quilts, are not just for young children. Many persons with Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or other cognitive deficits may experience agitation or anxiety. It seems they are searching for something to hold – fidgeting with clothing or bedding or rubbing hands aimlessly. Professionals working with clients at Agape Hospice & Palliative Care, and other organizations serving those with similar needs, find the busy blanket provides a tool to stimulate the senses, evoke memories and calm agitation.
Please email Beth at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to attend or if you have questions. No special skills are required, but if you’d like to bring your own pins and scissors, that would be helpful.
