Compensated Intakes

December is one of our no-intake months, so look for our January newsletter when we'll announce the day to call and make an appointment for a January compensated drop-off. We do take donations at any time that we're open. Please, no dumping or donations left at the building after hours or without our knowledge.

The Craft Box News & Happenings ~ April 2018

We will be closing early on Saturday, April 7th at 3:00 p.m. for a Craft Box staff event.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Spring Celebration–On Saturday, April 21st we will be celebrating the opening of The Stitching Factory and highlighting our classroom and conference room spaces.  All alterations and gear repair dropped off that day will be discounted 10%.  Come by and enjoy a piece of cake and a quick craft and enter to win gift certificates to The Stitching Factory or The Craft Box.  Happy Spring!

On Sale this month:  Books are 20% off.  Upholstery and apparel fabric continue to be 50% off, look here first for your next sewing project!

We will be taking appointments for compensated drop offs on Wednesday, April 4th starting at 10:00 a.m.  Please DO NOT leave a message, you must talk to a Craft Box employee to get an appointment.  Thank you for your patience and persistence with our new system.  If you do not get an appointment, but have items that are in high demand (quilt shop quality fabric and good quality yarn) we will put you on a waiting list.

Please consult our website for updated lists on items that we are not taking.  Our previous guidelines still apply:  a limit of 3 boxes or large bags per drop off,  we will not pay for items that smell like moth balls, smoke or mustiness, or items covered in pet hair.

Please, no dumping or donations left at the building after hours or without our knowledge.

We would like to remind everyone about our ongoing outreach of making Fidget Quilts for Alzheimer and dementia patients. Fidget Quilts are lap sized quilts that provide sensory and tactile stimulation for the restless hands of someone with Alzheimer’s, dementia, ADD or an autism spectrum disability.  Here is a great video showing you how:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhojSOjTAn4

We want to thank the ladies from Foothills EGA for helping to put together our kits, come by and pick one or two up!  Also, we will be holding a work day for Fidget Quilts in our classroom on Wednesday, April 18th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Also, if you know of someone or a facility that could use the quilts, please let us know.  We want to get the quilts into the hands of those who can use them.”

We’ve received some great entries for our Altered Bottle Challenge.  Please come by and vote for your favorite!  Voting ends on April 28th.  The winner will be announced on April 30th.
